InfoFlux Chaos

“InfoFlux Chaos” is an interactive art installation that explores the disruptive influence of social media on attention, behavior, and time. Drawing on the traditions of interactive media and experiential design, the piece uses a network of flowing LED light tubes to simulate the continuous, overwhelming stream of digital content. At its core, the installation features three interactive nodes, each representing a key social media distraction:

  • Node 1
Simulates social media chat notifications. Audio prompts interrupt users, mirroring how constant alerts break our focus.
  • Node 2
Recreates selfie-sharing culture by capturing and displaying users’ images in real time, exposing our fixation on curated digital identities.
  • Node 3
Mimics short-video addiction. Videos auto-play as users approach and pause when they leave, reflecting the endless scroll of viral content.
